Decorating with zebra prints and other animal prints is a trend that is steadily growing. If you are thinking about decorating your bedroom, your child's room, your office, bathroom, or any other room, with zebra prints or any other animal prints that are popular these days - cheetah, leopard, giraffe, or tiger - there are just a few tips that you will need to keep in mind. Keep your design simple and add a few touches of luxury and elegance, so your room doesn't have an over-the-top "jungle" look to it.

The following few tips should help you decorate successfully.

Keep the Design Simple
You will want to create a certain mood in any room that you decorate. The basic step to doing that is the wall color. Wall color is doubly important when decorating with zebra prints and other animal prints. Start with a neutral wall color and add the bolder animal prints as you go. Do not overdo the prints, since they can overpower a room and ruin the basic mood and good taste of the overall interior design.
Pick Your Furniture
Determine the primary use of the space that you are decorating before you buy anything. The room should focus on that use. An office will revolve around the desk, a bedroom will center on the bed, a dining room around the table. After the furniture has been bought, use the zebra prints and other animal prints as accessories. Add pillows, sheets, lamp shades, rugs, curtains, napkins, towels, etc.
Add Smaller Accents
Add smaller accents in the print colors. Add black picture frames or additional pillows that are pure white. They will balance the rooms colors. Some contrast can be added by having a few plants, but be careful with large plants. They can increase the "jungle" feel of the room.
The keys to decorating with zebra prints and other animal prints are to keep the design simple, pick your furniture and decorate around it, and incorporate your prints basic colors into the smaller accents like picture frames, lamp shades, rugs, and pillows.
